Sunburn

1. Follow your doctor's instructions.
2. The treatment for a severe sunburn should be implemented immediately.
3. Apply cool compresses and lubrication to the affected area. Creams containing vitamin E or aloe can be helpful. Do not apply any lotion or ointment that contains topical anesthetics, topical benadryl or neomycin.
4. If you do not have a prescription for anti-inflammatory medication, start Advil, 3 every 6 hours immediately.
5. See your doctor as quickly as possible.
6. If blisters appear, keep applying ice.
7. If blisters break, apply bacitracin ointment or silvadene cream. Clean wound with saline solution.
8. Leave burns open to air.
