| 1. | Follow your doctor's instructions. |
| 2. | For first degree burns, apply ice packs every few hours. There is no need to apply antibiotic ointments or gels or creams if the skin is not broken, Keep the area elevated ant take an anti-inflammatory medication such as Advil on a regular basis. |
| 3. | For those burns with blisters, apply ice also on a regular basis. If the blister is intact, there is no need to apply an antibiotic ointment or cream other than for lubrication. |
| 4. | For those burns where the blister is broken, apply silvadene cream as directed by your physician. You should have a prescription for saline solution .9% to clean the wound. |
