FAA Flight Physicals
For FAA Flight Physicals, be sure to schedule with Dr. Panzer only. Please bring your pilot's license and previous medical certificate if applicable. Bring your glasses and do not wear contacts to the exam. You may apply the contacts once you are here after your eyes are examined for uncorrected vision.
For those pilots who have been contacted by the FAA by mail concerning any particular medical problem, you are expected to bring any correspondence from the FAA with you for your flight physical. You are required to follow any instructions that are included in this letter. If you are on medication for hypertension you may be required to have a letter from your private physician noting your average blood pressure readings, the medication you are on and whether or not you have side effects from this medication. Blood tests and an electrocardiogram may be required.
Please be advised that the fee for routine flight exams without an EKG is $110.00. If Dr. Panzer is required to submit additional information to the FAA along with any reports (for those airmen/women who are diabetic, hypertensive or have heart ailments) the fee will be $180.00.
If any information is requested to be sent to the FAA, Dr. Panzer is required to gather the necessary information and forward it to the FAA. Depending upon your medical problem and the contents of the correspondence from the FAA, our office may or may not be allowed to issue your medical certification. At times the FAA will only allow Dr. Panzer to complete the medical exam, but defer the issuance of the medical certificate to Aeromedical Certification in Oklahoma City. They will review the examination and any additional information that we forward and make their decision after their review.
With certain medical conditions, the FAA may state that you do not fulfill the medical requirements required of your requested certification and you will not be granted a medical certification. In the same letter they may state that you will or can be granted a special issuance of a medical certificate. You must follow any instructions if you wish to gain medical certification under special issuance. If you have any questions, you may call Dr. Panzer at (631) 587-6060 ext. 212 or send e-mail to adpmd@limcpc.com. You may also contact the FAA Aeromedical Certification Division in Oklahoma City at (405) 954-1000.
If you have any questions regarding your medical condition, medication or treatment you are receiving and are concerned about medical certification, please feel free to contact Dr. Panzer.
